Miradouro da Lua is a must-see tourist spot for those heading from Luanda to Barra do Kwanza or the beaches of Cabo Ledo.

By early 2019, the site was in an advanced state of decay and abandonment, due to a ravine that advanced into the center of space and the large amounts of household waste disposed of at the site.

In a tour visit, ANGOP found that the ravine was closed and circular protection zones were installed on the site, where the tourist can safely observe the landscape.

In 2018, during a visit to the south of Luanda, the Minister of Hotels and Tourism, Ângela Bragança, requested the banning of Miradouro da Lua, for presenting advanced signs of degradation.

At the tour site, some tourists said that Miradouro da Lua is a must-stop for taking photographs and enjoying the breathtaking view that resembles the lunar landscape.
