Governor highlights church role in moralizing society

Huambo - The governor of Huambo province, Joana Lina, said Wednesday that the church's involvement in the moralization of society is an indispensable imperative, given the important role it plays in harmonizing communities, preserving peace and consolidation of national unity and reconciliation.

The official made these statements at the opening of the National Workshop on “Religious values ​​and human capital in light of the objectives of sustainable development”, in an initiative of the Council of Christian Churches in Angola (CICA), in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund. (UNFPA).

Joana Lina said that the authorities continue to respect the different religious confessions, based on the Constitution and the Law, hence the reason for instilling in their members values ​​and principles of good social practice, so that families are, in fact, the pillar for building a fairer society.

He underlined that the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, aimed at transforming the world, is a common vision of 193 UN member states to address the needs of people in both developing and developed countries, thus showing its universal character.
