According to the Secretary of State, who regularly updates the country's epidemiological profile, an observation of the home isolation of asymptomatic cases or suspicious people will depend on the conditions of the patient's residence, as well as the risk assessment that will be made by the health authorities.

Among several conditions, he pointed out the existence of an exact home address and a telephone or internet as essential elements to facilitate communication between the patient and the health authorities.

The patient must be isolated in a room or annex compartment with natural conditions.

Also to reduce the risk of contamination of the disease as much as possible, the public health specialist also stressed that the patient must also have an independent bathroom.

Along with the isolation of the patient, he said that other family members will also be forced to be confined, without having contact with the patient or other members of the community.

The patient in home isolation also cannot be in the same residence with people at risk (elderly, diabetics, hypertensive patients, among other diseases).

He assured that health teams for medical monitoring of patients in the homes have already been set in place, also counting on the collaboration of family members and neighbours to help control patients.

The isolation time can be up to 14 days, depending on the evolution of the disease and the results of the tests.

He ensured that people who do not have the conditions required to fulfill home isolation will be taken to the state's quarantine and institutional treatment centers.

The country has a cumulative number of 1,815 positive cases, with 83 deaths, 584 recovered patients and 1,418 active patients.

Of the ill, four five are in critical condition and with invasive mechanical ventilation, 25 in severe condition, 22 moderate, 35 with mild symptoms and 1,062 asymptomatic.
