Speaking on the lecture “Erosion of Soils - A National Reflection," he said that efforts have been made to contain the effects of the phenomenon in the country, as well as its social, psychological, economic and environmental impact.

The official defended a broad reflection on the subject, since it is an action that the local authorities have to fight it.

He affirmed that the Ministry of Construction, as the central body responsible for the protection of the Public Works sector, particularly the infrastructure, takes particular care with the issue of combating erosion, with the adoption of preventive measures in order to avoid the emerging of processes that may harm the society.

Euclides Manuel de Carvalho launched a challenge to the socio-professional associations of the sector to promote, in partnership with the incumbent minister, the debate on issues of interest and from which it is possible to draw conclusions that contribute to draft more adjusted policies of the sector, in line with the objectives.

In this perspective, the Secretary of State for Construction called on public and private higher education institutions to contribute to the search for and consolidation of scientific knowledge, in the sense of a combination with better results.
