Titled Intersections- Within the Global South, the sample brings together works by 15 professionals, representing Angola, Mozambique, South Africa, Brazil, DRC, Portugal, Burkina Faso and Namibia.

The exhibition, which will be open until 16 January 2020, is part of the project of the new generation of artists from a “Global South” who seek to promote, through their work, a comprehensive reflection on some of the most relevant historical-social issues, experienced in their geographical territories.

These are works of art that embody an exhibition through which conceptually and artistically explore multiple affinities inherent to the historical, social and political context of this contemporary “Southern Global” and that place its artistic production in the sphere of an art of character, which encourages public awareness of pressing issues.

According to the curator of the sample, Sónia Ribeiro, the presentations of the works differ materially and technically from the most conventional media and artistic genres, through an almost total absence of "stricto sensu" painting works (in the specific sense).
