Namibe government wants conservation of monuments

Moçâmedes - The government of the province of Namibe has pointed out the need for the continuous conservation of monuments and cultural sites, through their cataloging in location letters and tourism routes to provide tourists.

The provincial governor, Carlos da Rocha Cruz, who spoke on the occasion of the National Culture Day, called on cultural agents to be creative and bet on the investigation of habits and customs taking into account the rescue of true cultural values that guide history and identity national.

He announced that for the 2017/2022 period the rehabilitation of monuments and sites, as well as other infrastructure in the sector, with the main emphasis on the construction of cultural houses in the municipalities and the implementation of virtual libraries, in addition to holding cultural fairs.

Carlos da Rocha Cruz said that behaviors that undermine the cultural identity of the region's peoples must be repudiated and fought, namely the looting and vandalism of the monuments, sites and cultural centers newly built in the neighborhoods.
