The minister was speaking at the closing ceremony of the 3rd Pan-African Space for Mathematical Education (PAMES 2019).
She suggested that the strengthening of research and publication of works should be extended to the area of technologies, with view to solving social and environmental problems.
Data presented in the subject of Mathematics reveal worrying learning outcomes in Angola, said the minister, without providing further details.
She also spoke of the need for an articulated and urgent response from teachers and researchers of mathematic science to improve the efficiency of students in that discipline, both in the country and in Africa.
Along with the Portuguese language, mathematics is the subject with the highest failure rates in national education, both in the public and private sectors.
In order to counter this reality, she said, the Government plans to introduce innovations in the teaching of this subject in Angola, through the implementation of the GeoGebra Institute in the country’s 18 provinces.
