Education Ministry revitalizes literacy centers

Caxito - The Ministry of Education, through the Program for Literacy and Acceleration (PAAE), will revitalize the literacy centers, aiming to declare 21 locations, from the six municipalities that make up the province of Bengo, by 2022, free from illiteracy.

This fact was told Friday to Angop, by PAAE coordinator Francisco Firmino, underlining that the revitalization process will take place in the period 2020/2022, aiming to apply more acceleration classes in all municipalities of the province.

These are the villages of Mangumbo, Kissala, Dala and municipal headquarters (Bula Atumba), Caxito, Panguila and Kawango, bucula and 70th Motorized Infantry Brigade (Dande), Kimukiama, Kifulo, Tchimba, Kissala and Kibaxe (Dembos) , Muxaluando, Kissoba and Tari (Nambuangongo), Maria Antonia, Boa Entrada, Benza (Pango Aluquém).

Francisco Firmino reported that the PAAE also intends to expand the partnership with the social partners and continue with the pedagogical and administrative work in the localities expected to be declared free from illiteracy.

In Bengo province, 22,648 citizens were enrolled in the present school year in literacy classes using the “Yes I Can” and “Global Village” methods, with 7,843 men and 14,805 women, more than 9,766 literacy students in relation to the previous year.
