Namibe: Ministry of Petroleum vows to continue improving services

Moçâmedes - The minister of Mineral Resources and Petroleum, Diamantino de Azevedo, said on Monday that the Ministry he runs will continue to improve the services provided to public institutions linked to this sector.

The among improvements, said the official, include improving and simplifying the process of granting mining rights, speed up the presentation of the National Plan of Geology and facilitate its availability to those interested to conduct prospection and exploitation projects in Angola.

The Cabinet minister, who was addressing the closing ceremony of the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Petroleum Consultative Council, said the process is aimed at increasing output to enhance Gross Domestic Product (GDP), levy revenues and create jobs, for this purpose it is currently restructuring its management model.

In the meantime, added the minister, the strategy for the auctioning of refining and petrochemical blocks and others, created guideline mechanisms to stabilize oil output and encourage more oil and gas exploitation.

The event was attended by 270 local delegates along with provincial directors and guests.
