Uíge: Governor reiterates call for boosting coffee production

Uíge - The governor of the northern Uíge, Pinda Simão, defended Saturday in the municipality of Mucaba, 66 kilometers from the capital city of the province, the need to focus on promoting coffee production and improving product quality to leverage the development of the economy in the region.

Speaking at the opening of the 2019 coffee harvest campaign, the official highlighted that the Government is working to create the necessary conditions for increased production and higher quality of the product.

He acknowledged that coffee production in the province fell as compared to the previous year, which reached around 80 thousand tons / year, compared to the current 6 thousand.

Coffee growers, government officials, traditional and religious authorities witnessed the opening of the campaign that took place at the Paulo Mutange farm in Mucaba, a municipality with great coffee potential in the province.
