One candidate running for Paralympic Committee top job

Luanda - Angolan Paralympic Committee (CPA) will hold its elections for 2020/24 period, since the organisation was founded on November 10, 1994.

Leonel Pinto seeking one more term at CPA

Leonel da Rocha Pinto, the outgoing CPA president, is the only candidate running for the position.

The deadline for the candidates to handover their lists ended on Friday.

The Electoral Commission told Angop that Leonel Pinto submitted his candidacy and his list will be released next Monday. 

Elections, whose campaign runs 29 September- 8 October, will take place on October 10. After two the final results will be  released. 

Leonel Pinto took over from Bernardino Seixas, more than 20 years ago.

He was vice president of the General Assembly Table. 

In addition to hold the position of chairman of CPA, he also heads the African Paralympic Committee and is a member of the Executive Commission of the International Paralympic Committee.
