Abel Abraão Digital Library already in operation in Cuito

Cuito - The "Abel Abraão" Digital Library, in the city of Cuito, central Bié Province, went into operation on Saturday, after its inauguration in an act chaired by the minister of Telecommunications and Information Technologies, José Carvalho da Rocha.

The 180-seat facility has a 122-seat auditorium, free WiFi, 24-seat cafeteria, 164-seat reading space, 86 Desktop-type computers, 25 eBook devices (iPads) four Video game devices. It has a culture area also for 300 people.


The minister of Telecommunications and Information Technologies, José Carvalho da Rocha, speaking during the act , said that this inauguration fulfils a guideline of the Executive’s head , João Lourenço, who aims to improve the populations' lives.


The minister appealed for the use of the infrastructure  with responsibility, and made a commitment to continue to promote and implement technological solutions that increasingly bring the population closer to services and also to further spread  information and communication technologies and to reduce the digital gap.


The governor of Bie, Pereira Alfredo, considered the imposing infrastructure imposing, noting that it will offer a new architectural panorama, as well as fill a void in the city, as well as provide leisure time for the youth.
