The Green Climate Fund (GCF) is an operational initiative of the financing mechanism of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which aims to support Least Developed Countries to invest in low carbon actions (mitigation) and climate resilience (climate change adaptation).

According to Minister Paula Coelho, this is a national dialogue to find a platform that is the basis of mitigation and especially prevention so that weather events have less and less impact on local communities.

It is also intended to evaluate the potential and contribution of the GCF to the National Development Program (NDP), with a view to achieving the goals set and the creation of a multisectoral working group as a national platform for the promotion of good practices and sharing.

Paula Coelho also highlighted the need to motivate the private sector to provide greater involvement in the GCF by investing in pro-environmental projects such as resource mobilization, market assessment for the implementation of the green economy model and definition of public-private partnership models.
