This was during a workshop for consultation with the institutions and technicians to draft the proposed list of sites, sponsored by Ministry of Environment.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the sector's consultant, Soki Kuedikuenda, who was speaking on behalf of the incumbent minister, Paula Francisco, said that the list comprises five sites.

According to Soki, the list includes the national parks of Cangandala, Iona, Luengue-Luiana, the Arco lake, and all the sources of the Okavango Zambezi basin as far as Kwanza.

He said that the inclusion of a site on the so-called attempt list has several advantages such as the fact of being internationally known and benefiting from preservation support programmes.

The Ministry of the Environment has identified some natural sites of the country that it intends to submit to UNESCO, he said.
