Soap factory transformed into innovation center

Luanda - In order to contribute to the fight against crime among young people living in the municipality of Cazenga, Luanda province, the center of innovation decided to transform the old soap factory abandoned for more than 15 years into a place of entrepreneurship.

The project called the "Soap Factory" Innovation Center also aims to offer an entirely new approach to opportunities for Angolans, especially young people, in order to contribute to the development of the country.

The director general of the "Soap Factory", Innovation Center, Manuela Canga, told Angop at the "Open Doors" event, held on Saturday, that the purpose of this space is to make it an interactive center of entrepreneurship and sustainable innovation, in which the production and training components are united.

He reported that on the premises are operating various spaces such as the atelier where they work materials of iron, wood, plastic in the production of pieces of furniture and decorative items.

Likewise, he pointed out, if they carry out recycling projects, especially the transformation of plastic bottles into mosaic and tiles, a way to create jobs and reduce street garbage.

"For the manufacture of mosaics and plastic tiles we collect as many bottles as possible from the street to provide citizens with a cheaper product than the traditional ones," he explained.
