This service is part of the contingency plan of the Ministry of Health (Minsa), to face up the situation of the new coronavirus in the country.

The information was released, last  Friday, in Luanda, by the Ministry of Health inspector, Miguel de Oliveira, during a press conference on the status of the new coronavirus, specifying that 18,045 national citizens were examined and 12,987 foreigners.

He informed that in the last 24 hours, 819 nationals and 630 foreigners were screened, a total of 1,449 passengers.

He recalled that the country has not registered any positive cases of the disease so far, only two suspicious citizens, whose results were negative.

He referred that the Government created two quarantine centers, one in the Barra do Kwanza area and the other in Calumbo, in the province of Luanda, installed at a distance of one hundred meters from the homes and school areas.

The population residing in the areas surrounding the quarantine centers was reassured, since all safety measures have been taken and patients hospitalized in these places are only under epidemiological surveillance, with asymptomatic cases.

He made it known that in the center of Barra do Kwanza, 64 citizens from China are quarantined, 21 of them Angolans, 42 Chinese and one Brazilian.

He added that in the center of Calumbo, 21 Angolans, 28 Chinese and an Ivory Coast citizen are quarantined.
