Initially scheduled for Tuesday, 22 and postponed for logistical and organizational reasons, the Tshisekedi investiture ceremony takes place four days after the Constitutional Court's announcement of the final results of the general election on 30 December 2018.
Minister Manuel Augusto attended the event on behalf of the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, who two days earlier addressed a congratulatory message to Tshisekedi on his electoral victory, wishing him "the greatest successes in the noble and difficult task assigned by the Congolese people.
"In his letter, which has been widely referenced in the Congolese press, João Lourenço informs Tshisekedi that he can count on Angola's solidarity, "in all the actions he undertakes to boost the progress and development of the DRC", within the framework of relations of cooperation and friendship between the two countries.
