Speaking to the Angolan press - on her arrival in Zimbabwe where she participated in the swearing-in ceremony of the Zimbabwean new president – Stergomena Lawrence Tax stressed that the new faces that assumed power in countries like Angola, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Botswana do not necessarily transform SADC into a more democratic region.
She went on to say that SADC is already a democratic region, so the new faces will bring about new governance models and ideas, adding that SADC is not dependent just on leaders, but also on its peoples.
She emphasised that she hopes the citizens of the region do listen to the leaders in regard to the efforts of regional development.
