Detail of the meeting of territory administration minister with representatives of OBEA

OBEA suggests 25% citizens up to 35 years of age and 5% for independent representatives of the local vulnerable groups locations.

This was discussed Monday at the meeting between the election body and minister of Territory Administration and State Reform, Adão de Almeida.

The local electoral process should be monitored by national and international observers, under the law.

It also suggests, in its proposal, the election for President of Municipal Council of the candidate from the list of the most voted (preferential vote) political party, coalition of political parties or group of citizens voters.

OBEA proposes for the position of President of Council the citizens over 18 years old, resident in the same Municipality.

OBEA also suggests a self law to regulate the financing of the electoral campaign of the candidacies for the Municipal elections.

Still, the Municipal Electoral Commission will be tasked with monitoring the local polling center, including  the results from all polling stations and tabulation of the local electoral results.

The results must be announced by the head of the Municipal Electoral Commission within seven days from  the closing of the voting process.

Luís Jimbi coordinated OBEA.
