Angola at Unesco-Africa / China Forum in Paris

Luanda - A delegation of the Ministry of Culture, led by the minister Carolina Cerqueira, will participate in the Unesco-Africa / China Forum to be held in in Paris (France), from 3 to 4 June.

The Angolan delegation intends to promote an approach to the issue of conservation of traces inscribed on the World Heritage List in July 2017.

The delegation will also take the opportunity to provide information on the engagement of the Angolan Executive in actions to promote and preserve the former capital of the Kingdom of Kongo, in accordance with the recommendations of the World Heritage Committee.

The forum on capacity building and cooperation for world heritage will discuss issues related to safeguarding, legislation, job creation and youth responsibility, protection tools and mechanisms, world heritage and communities, efforts heritage conservation in Africa and China.

The signing of a 5-year memorandum of collaboration between the AWHF and WHITRAP is also planned to improve the management of world heritage in the Africa and Asia Pacific regions.
