EDA distributes 330 tons of fertilizers in Caála
Caála - At least 330 tons of fertilizers began to be distributed today, Tuesday, to 6,600 peasant families in the municipality of Caála, central Huambo province, by the Agricultural Development Station (EDA) of this area, with the aim of encouraging the widening of cultivated areas.

This was confirmed to ANGOP, by the head of EDA in the municipality of Caála, Pinto Salgueiro Bulica, noting that the initiative also aims to encourage farmers to increase production rates of corn, beans, soybeans, cassava, potatoes reindeer, vegetables and tubers.
Farmers, according to the official, are buying NPK 12/24/12 fertilizer bag at a price of 5,000 kwanzas, compared to 8,000 in the formal market, at a price subsidized by the government authorities, focused on increasing production, to make challenges of food security and economic diversification.
The official said that the distribution process is mostly comprised of peasant associations and agricultural cooperatives, due to insufficient fertilizer available in this municipality, which has 45,897 peasant families, totaling 331.021 inhabitants.
