The dispute persists despite the long time of negotiation between the team, led by Tomás Faria, and the coach, whose contract ends on Tuesday (30).

Saturday, after the extraordinary general assembly of members, held in Luanda, the vice president for basketball, Artur Barros, announced the fact to Angop, noting that if the situation prevails there is a list of domestic and foreign candidates.

The sport official said it is the intention to keep the coach in the team for the maintenance of the objectives outlined, but if there is no understanding he will have nothing more to do unless regret the situation.

He said that in addition to the idea of securing the Adingono competition, the club is also working on the renewal with the main assets of the team, ensuring that some are already confirmed, at a time when two US reinforcements are being sought.

He avoided mentioning names, but remained silent when asked about the maintenance of Carlos Morais, Olímpio Cipriano and Leonel Paulo, three of the most influential athletes in the national championship.

Since 2012 in the service of Petro, Lazare Adingono has won two national championships (2015 and 2019), two Angolan Cups (2013 and 2014) and one African Cup of Champion Clubs (2015).

His work is also appreciated in the perspective of the integration of young athletes in the main team, some have already achieved status among the references, such as the cases of Gerson Lukeny, Childe Dundão and Quinzinho.
