Speaking at the workshop on the National Policy on Gender Equality and Equity, which the Ministry of Social Action, Family and Women's Promotion (Masfamu) is holding on Wednesday, the official said that the female layer is the majority in the country, so it would be fair to reduce gender inequality in decision making.

"In Angola, 76 percent of men participate in the decision-making process, compared with 24 percent of women, hence the need to focus on women in order to achieve more leadership positions," she said.

Julia Quitócua said that the National Policy of Gender Equality and Equity is a legal instrument published in Official Gazette of December 24, 2013 and, after six years, it needs an assessment of the degree of implementation to identify new strategies and action.
