The journalist concerned, a member of this body, representing the UNITA party, denounced an alleged "criminal persecution" by colleagues of the ERCA board.
In a press release, ERCA states the statements and possible consequences for the treatment "granted" by Carlos Alberto "to the different collective and singular entities mentioned in the said press conference".
ERCA admits that the current climate of impunity may result from "omission" by the competent State bodies, from the conclusion of the disciplinary proceedings instituted against the member concerned for committing excess absences during the calendar year 2018.
The Media Regulator reiterates that its members must strictly comply with the Constitution of the Republic of Angola and other laws (principle of legality).
It recalls that freedom of vote and pluralism of expression, as well as the principle of urbanity, oblige Council members, in the exercise of their duties, to act with respect and observance of the rules of good education in their relationship with each other.
