The pledge was made at the opening ceremony of the Consultative Council of the Provincial Branch Office of the Interior Ministry on Thursday.

The governor announced a set of measures which, according to him, will help address, among various issues, the increase of crime and reduction of the unemployment rate.

He quoted the government effort that allowed the recruitment in 2018 of more than 1,600 young people who joined the public service and 1,950 others in the private sector.

Pinda Simão said with creation of conditions the government will increase employment, both in the public and private sector, and improve the public lighting.

Pinda Simão also announced the ongoing and in the final stage of the construction of a photovoltaic power plant in the municipality of Sanza Pombo.

He announced the government plan to extend the lighting network to Kilala, Mbemba Ngango, Papelão, Candombe and Ana Candande 1 and 2 neighbourhoods, in the  municipality of Uíge.

The governor also explained that studies are underway to expand the extension of the electricity grid in the other inland municipalities of the  province, which currently depend on the  generators to produce electricity.
