USD 100 mln spent on equipment to halt spreading of ravines

Luanda - Angolan Government said it has spent about USD 100 million on acquisition of kits to halt the spreading of ravine, soil erosion, maintenance and conservation of roads, opening of secondary and tertiary roads.

This was announced Monday by minister of the Construction and Public Works, Manuel Tavares de Almeida.

According to the official, the equipment will allow the Municipalities to intervene immediately in such situations.
 

Manuel de Almeida said the equipment start arriving late June, coming from Spain and the delivery will extend until 2020.

He also announced the coming of technicians of the manufacturers to train the trainers of operators and maintenance of the equipment.

The Ministry signed in 2018 de-concentration deal with the provincial governments on award of construction works to the companies for execution of actvities.

He also announced plan for resumption of conservation programme of roads estimated at about USD 175 million.

Manuel Tavares de Almeida was speaking at the annual meeting with the vice governors to evaluate and review exercise that will allow the planning of the public development programme for 2020.
