President sets up commission to review expropriations

Luanda - Angolan head of State João Lourenço has appointed an Inter-ministerial Commission tasked with Revising the Legal Framework of Expropriations.

The information is expressed in a note released by Civil Affairs Office of the President of Republic on Tuesday.

The legal arrangement will define a set of procedural rules to be observed by the Administration on Expropriations in public utility.

Created under the Presidential Dispatch, the Commission will provide a more updated legal regime to the Institute of Expropriations to match the current social and economic reality, in view of the ongoing conversion and facelift programme in some parts of the country.

The Commission is coordinated by minister of State and Chief of Civil Affairs Office of President, assisted by minister of Territory Planning, Urbanisation and Housing.

Other members integrating the Commission ministers of Territory Administration and State Reform, Justice and Human Rights, Construction and Public Works.

Secretaries of the President of Republic for religious and local affairs, and legal and judiciary affairs, also join the Commission.

The Commission was given 120 days to perform its work followed by delivery and approval of the final report.
