MPLA candidate works in Cunene province

Ondjiva - The MPLA deputy president, João Lourenço, arrived Friday in the city of Ondjiva, Cunene province, for a two-day visit, for his public presentation as MPLA candidate to the President of the Republic, in the forthcoming general elections.

João Lourenço was cheered by militants, friends and sympathizers of the MPLA who rushed to the 11 de Novembro Airport to welcome him.

According to the program of the visit, the MPLA candidate will visit the Oihole Tourist Complex and Ondjiva General Hospital, the largest health unit in the province.

He will deliver goods to traditional authorities, former combatants, the disabled and young students.

For Saturday, a mass act is planned in the neighborhood of Naipalala, near Ondjiva.

The province of Cunene comprises six municipalities, 20 communes, 273 villages and has a population estimated at 990,087 inhabitants.
