Speaking to the press at the end of his visit to Huambo province, the ombudsman said that the elections are a time of popular celebration, which have to be carried out in an environment of order, so as to guarantee the citizen's right to vote.
"We raised a concern presented by the municipal administrator of Bailundor, which is related to the removal of flags of political parties and that result in physical aggression among citizens. We hope that there will be an effort for a good coexistence in diversity", he said.
On the other hand, Paulo Tjipilica made a positive balance of his stay in Huambo province, where he visited the local prison and chaired a lecture on the role of the Ombudsman's Office, aimed for members of the government, magistrates, traditional authorities and university students.
He said that the objective is to bring the services of this body closer to citizens in the cities, communes and villages.
