This is expressed in the final communiqué emerged from the first extraordinary meeting of the party's Central Committee, chaired by its president José Eduardo dos Santos.
Calling on the militants, sympathisers, friends and people, in general, the ruling party believes that the political tolerance will allow the permanent contribution to the strengthening of democracy.
The participants praised the role of President José Eduardo do Santos in achieving the peace and pursuing a greater integration policy of young people in the country’s political life.
They also welcomed those who joined the data update and voter registration process.
The meeting assessed the level of preparation of its structures in the light of election pre-campaign, which has allowed a greater adhesion of militants, friends and sympathizers of MPLA and population in general, in support for its candidate to President of the Republic, João Lourenço.
According to the document, read by the secretary for Information of the party’s Politburo, Mário António, MPLA expressed concern about the escalation of violence in the world, particularly in the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Addressing the opening ceremony, the MPLA leader, José Eduardo dos Santos, said that the improvement of the organisation was crucial
for the party's success, especially at a time the country gears up for general elections aimed to decide the future of the nation in next few years.
José Eduardo dos Santos stated that the structure will allow the achievement of greater effectiveness, improvement in the execution of the party tasks and the high levels of trust by the voters, in general.
On the other hand, the MPLA leader said that the party is focusing on control of inflation and stability of the net international reserves due to the economic and financial situation of the country.
