BNA seeks covid-19 impact data on small, medium companies

Luanda - The National Bank of Angola (BNA) launched on Friday, a synthetic survey aimed at gathering information on the impact of the covid-19 on the productive and commercial activity of the Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (PME).

Concerned with the current context, the Central Bank is inviting companies grouped in different sectors of economic activity such as agriculture, animal production, forestry, fishing, manufacturing, construction, transport, storage, trade, education, housing and catering, communication and information, among others, to join the enquire.

The survey, according to a note from the BNA, shall be submitted in the 15th day of each month.

The survey will be valid for the period in which the country will face the covid-19 pandemic.

Under the terms of Law No. 30/11 of September 13 on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, are considered micro firm, those employing up to 10 workers and/or having an annual gross turnover in Kwanzas not exceeding the equivalent of US 250,000 dollars turnover.

Meanwhile, are considered small firms, those employing more than 10 and up to 100 workers and/or having an annual gross turnover in Kwanzas exceeding the equivalent of US 250,000 dollars and equal or less than US 3 million dollars turnover.

Medium-sized companies are those that employ more than 100 to 200 employees and/or have an annual gross turnover in Kwanzas higher than the equivalent of US 3 million dollars and equal or less than US10 million dollars turnover.
