Speaking to the press, during his visit to the sector in Bie province, the minister said that the dam's energy supply will reduce fuel costs and boost the industrial sector.
The capital province of Bie, Cuito, partially receives electric energy from the Gove dam (Bié).
The remaining localities benefits from energy produced by a thermal power station installed in Kaluapanda, 10 km south of city.
The other municipalities and communes are illuminated through generators.
The water level of reservoir of the Laúca hydroelectric dam, under construction in northern Malanje province, reached a quota of 800 meters in 25 April, with the tests for the first 334-Megawatts turbine set for May.
