Adapted Athletics: Country vying to get pass to Paralympic Games

Luanda - At least five Angolan athletes left on Sunday for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to take part in the 2019 World Para Athletics Championship, to take place in Dubai on November 7 to 19, with the aim to get enough points to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

The athletes integrating the group are José Chamoleia, Regina Dumbo (T11class) , Emiloide Adelino, Juliana Moko and Manuel Jaime (T46 class).

In the last international competition held in Tunisia, José Chamoleia won two gold medals in 200 and 400m and bronze in 100m, Regina Dumbo won two gold medals in 100m and 200m, while Emelóide Avelino won gold 400m silver 200m and bronze 100m.

Manuel Jaime won silver medal in 800 m and bronze in 400m and 1500m.

Angola seek seventh presence in Paralympics Games following their first appearance in Atlanta in 1996.
