Luanda - China's telecommunications multinational, Huawei, expressed its commitment to continue investing and making its services available to customers around the world.

The world's largest supplier of telecommunications equipment reiterated its commitment in a press release reached Angop.

The second largest smartphone manufacturer  said it was open to cooperation with suppliers and partners.

In Angola alone, the Chinese company's investment stands at more than USD 60 million, for  building an Innovation and Training Center in Talatona, Luanda.

More than 500 students are expected to benefit from the Center's service from 2022

On the other hand, the note adds that the company is concerned about the recent US move to cut off Huawei from overseas chip manufacturers.

Trump Administration has ordered on the 16th this month foreign companies that use equipment for the manufacture of technological components in the U.S. be required to obtain a license in the country, before supplying them to Huawei.

In its note, produced at the end of the company's 17th Annual Global Analysts Meeting,  from 18 to 20 May, Huawei underlines that this is a "unilateral and arbitrary" decision.

The company argues the decision calls into question the entire global chain of technological production and distribution.

According to the aforementioned statement, this decision by the US Administration "will affect the telecommunication services of more than three billion people, who use Huawei products and services worldwide".

The Chinese company believes that, in the long run, the measure "will damage confidence and collaboration in the global semiconductor market, on which many sectors depend on".

"Despite the severe restrictions, Huawei expresses its commitment to increase its investments, continue to provide more services to its customers, remaining open to cooperate with suppliers and partners worldwide", underlined the multinational in its press release.

Founded in 1987 by Ren Zhengfei, Huawei is currently estimated at USD 858.8 billion and operates in 170 countries.

It has a workforce of 180,000 workers. It has been present in Angola for almost 20 years, during which it has provided services in the areas of technological systems and equipment for the public and private sectors.
